Knitting Pattern for Sheila, the sheep

Sheila, the sheep
Sheila, the sheep started as my twelfth toy mystery KAL hosted in my group on Ravelry.
The mystery KAL is over, but you can still knit your own Sheila, the sheep.

New Adventure

It probably took me few years of going back and forth in my mind. But finally, I made that leap of faith and jumped.
I have opened my Etsy store

Stana's Critters etc.

It's a work in progress. I am not sure what will happen next, but it sure will benefit everyone.
I will design more knitted patterns, the toys will hopefully find new home and I hope to have happy customers. In the process I might make some money to buy more yarn, which I would use to make more toys for the charity purposes.
Thank you for visiting.

More of the Baby Stuff

This is the collection of photographer's props that I have been working on for a while.

Any baby dressed in the matching set of the hat and the diaper cover will be adorable.

It's a work in progress......

Why I knit more than I write about it

There are few  reasons why I prefer to knit over writing about it.
First of all in the end there is an actual product. May it be a garment to wear, home decorating object, or a toy to play with.
The finished objects bring a lot of happiness, for me because I have created it, and for the recipient because they just received something special and unique.
Secondly, the knitting needles are not trying to attack me with viruses and nasty bugs that the Internet seems to be full of. The sad truth is, it's always the innocent bystander who is the victim of such an attack. The good thing is, life goes on and I continue and keep on creating something new.

Here are some of the new creations that I have been working on lately. You can see them, unlike the work that was lost.

Confession...

I must confess, well sort of. I love to knit. I love to create new critters, and toys. But even more I love to give them away.

Few weeks ago, I had a small visitor. She came and asked me to knit her Kuky, the bear. Then she returned and asked for another toy. She looked through my pile of yarn, and picked some. She told me, I want a sheep in these colors, the sheep needs a pacifier and the sheep's name will be Timmy. I really didn't have time to knit. Life got busy with other things. But she was persistent, every time she came for a visit she asked: "Where is my sheep?"

I couldn't resist, I just had to knit the sheep. When she came the next time, I gave her the sheep. She looked at me, took it, hugged the sheep in her arms, and smiled. That was it. No words, just the smile and a hug.

I know, I can't go to a yarn store and buy a new yarn with a smile or hug, but sometimes these little gestures are the best rewards that we can receive.
