I hope that the world will be a better place once the dust settles in, the virus runs its course and peaceful protest achieve the changes that should have been in place for many years. Growing up behind the Iron curtains, participating in Velvet Revolution and watching the world evolve into something else than we hoped for is heartbreaking. This is not the world I wish our children would inherit from us, the adults.
My wish is for peace to the world.

In these turbulent times I have received some unexpected news from knitting world.
One of my patterns that was previously published in I Like Knitting online magazine, has been nominated for Indie Designer pattern of the month - June.

It is a second time this year that one of my patterns have been nominated.  

Previously it was my Calypso Cowl, and coincidently both of these patterns were part of Top 50 patterns on I Like Knitting.

Running Hat, Calypso Cowl and Top 50 knitting patterns

Recently I have added two of my knitting patterns that were originally published by a third party into my Ravelry store.

Runner Hat was originally published by Knitpicks in their Under 200 book collection.  The pattern is available now to buy at my Ravelry store, by clicking on this button:

Summer and 3 new knitting patterns

Summer knitting

Long time ago I used to travel all the time. I travelled for pleasure and for work. When I was younger and free I used to be a tour guide. It was the best job ever. I was paid to travel, learn new things, experience new places, and share the knowledge. I would spend most of the year on road, travelling to various places and countries. When I was not travelling for work, I would travel on my own. It was truly the best job I ever had. Nowadays I don't travel for work anymore. Somehow falling in love and moving across the ocean to live in another country, and having a family made me change the direction of my career and life. My life is more settled and my travelling days are limited to visit my family and friends across the ocean once a year. It usually happens during the summer months. It creates a challenge to find a reasonable priced airline tickets, as the summer months are the most expensive months to travel. Seeing my family and friends once a year makes the trip ever so special and treasured.

Nature, life and new knitting patterns

Today is one year anniversary since the storms producing tornadoes and macroburst passed through our community and wreck a havoc.
I wrote a bit about it in this post from last year:

 After the storm

Life went on and even though the damage is still visible all around us we continue to live, dream, and hope. Nature is slowly recovering and in another ten or twenty years the damage will be hardly visible.

Today is warm and sunny day like it was last year. I hope that the weather will stay warm and sunny all day and my afternoon hike with the dog will be uneventful.

I hope to have some quiet time to knit few rounds on my latest project for third party company, and perhaps even start working on the pattern as well.

I also should post more information about the patterns that were published earlier this month and last month.

First it was my self published patterns for LM Wrap and LM Hat, both worked in Caron Cakes and completely reversible patterns.
