Knitting Pattern for Owl tablet case

Owl Tablet Cover
I have been asked to knit an owl tablet cover in brown colors, with a zipper opening on two sides.
We even found a matching fabric in a fabric store to put inside and to make the case stronger we have inserted cut out piece of plastic folder between the two layers. I must admit, it was challenge to sew the layers together with the plastic in place and to make the corner on the zipper opening. I was happy that my mom was the one doing the sewing, while I only did the knitting and figuring out the pattern.

Knitting Pattern for Chameleon Leon

Chameleon Leon
Not too long ago I have worked with Dream in Color Classy yarn. I created Charlie the fish and Jelly the dachshund knitting patterns. While I was looking for the yarn to work with I came across the color Karma Chamelion and I just could not help myself and I had to create chameleon.

Chameleon Leon is long approximately 11" (28cm) , 18" (46cm) including tail.
You will need one skein of Dream in Color Classy Worsted in Karma Chamelion and a small amount of black yarn for the eyes.

You may purchase the pattern on Ravelry in my store Stana's critters etc or by clicking on this button:

Knitting Pattern for Kitty Pencil Box

Kitty Pencil Box
Last week while we were at store picking up zipper for Sunny, the pencil box monster I saw the cutest kitty fabric. I could not resist and had to buy it.

These two pencil boxes were knitted because of the fabric. Now, I am not sure if everyone would agree with me that it is a cute kitty resembling pencil box. I have been told that it looks like a rabbit, a rat, a mouse, and many other animals. Sometimes the interpretation is different from what the creator had in mind.

I still have to knit a rabbit version of this pencil box with long floppy ears. I am curious what the result will be like... a rabbit or something else?

Knitting Pattern for Sunny, the pencil box monster

Sunny, the pencil box monster

I have been thinking about how to organize my yarn. I was looking at pictures posted by other knitters on Ravelry (yes, there is a thread devoted to organizations of your yarn) and was amazed by the creativity and ideas some people can come up with. I still haven't figured out how I would like to have my yarn organized, but this Friday I made the first step. I looked through everything and kind of organized so it looks neat and colorful.

I also realized that if I look through my yarn, I have a sudden urge to create something new and exciting. Sunny, the pencil box monster is the result. I picked the random pieces of yarn and created a happy monster in rainbow colors.

This is how Sunny looked yesterday. This morning we bought zipper in grey, just to make sure it is not overwhelming, and we have used the same fabric as we used for the minion pencil box.

Knitting Pattern for Minion Pencil Box

Minion Pencil Box
My last post was about minions. I have mentioned that I was asked to knit few minion toys, which made me think about what else I could make. Also we have only few weeks left before it's back to school, and the two thoughts combined together resulted in this pencil box.

I have to admit, I had a great help with the sewing part. My mom is visiting us and since she is a great quilter she knows how to work miracles with the sewing machine.

Use the four rectangles of fabric. (if making two pockets), otherwise use only two rectangles. Sew the three sides together. Insert the fabric inside the knitted piece. Attach the zipper to the opening and sew the zipper to the knitted and fabric layer. Before sewing on the sewing machine tuck the ends of the zipper between the layer of fabric and knitting for a neat finish.
I would suggest to leave the sewing of the black belt as the last thing. If you sew the black belt before it might be too thick for your sewing machine (it was for mine and we had to replace the broken needle)

Fill the pencil box with everything your artist may need.
