Knitting Pattern for Mice Bag

Mice bag
Ever since we got the puppy I have been thinking about cats. I was thinking that this bag might be a cat resembling bag, but when I posted the picture on FB everyone thought it was a mice bag. So I renamed the pattern as Mice Bag and continue to work on a bag with cats.

The finished bag is almost a square rather than rectangle, with 9.5" (24.5 cm) long sides, but the pattern offers an option for longer bag.

You will need one skein of grey yarn, I have used Knitpicks Mighty Stitch Worsted weight, and small amount of black, white and pink yarn. Also One small button as a nose and closure.

You can purchase the pattern in my Ravelry store or by clicking on this button:

Work in progress IV and Summer Reading Program

Library donation 2017
Every year our library have summer reading program for children to encourage reading. Children read and for every book they read (or the smaller one had read to them) they earn a raffle ticket. Volunteers and local businesses provides the prices children can win.

This year I gave the toys pictured above. I hope that whomever win the toys will love them. Sometimes when I visit the library I love to see the tickets in the container next to my knitted toys. It makes me feel happy to see that children are still interested in an old fashioned toys rather then electronics.

I was hoping to finish the minions and donate them as well, since the movie Despicable Me 3 is about to be released at the end of this month. But as you can see from the picture bellow, the minions are still work in progress......

Knitting Pattern for Cloudy Day Wrap

Cloudy Day Wrap
When I saw Knitpicks' Stroll Gradient yarn I wanted to create a wrap in shades from dark to light and back. The colorway Sea You Later was a perfect match. The pattern is fairly simple, worked flat mostly knit and purl stitches with braided cables in between columns of ribbing.
The colors make me think of late evening strolls along the beach, when the cooling breeze brings the smell of ocean and the faraway places I dream to visit one day....

The pattern is available now to purchase in my Ravelry store or by clicking on this button:

Work in Progress III.

This past week I have been concentrating on editing and writing. It's an important step in the whole process that takes to create a good knitting pattern.

Our puppy seems to be in many of my knitting projects pictures. He tends to fall asleep next to me when I am working on my knitting projects. Or perhaps its the other way around, when he is asleep I can actually knit uninterrupted.

Work in progress II

Cabled Cowl
Since last week, I managed to finish the cabled cowl in Malabrigo Rastita yarn. I am very happy with the cowl how it turned out.
This is the pattern I have used:
Gradient Cable Cowl

My next project to work on is a hat named Neva. I picked the yarn and then we had few days of summer heat.
Neva Hat - WIP
So instead on working on the hat, I got distracted and made these - a watermelon coaster and dishcloth.
I still have one more size to finish, and I would like to add fabric layer to the large coaster and the small glass coaster.

Work in Progress

Cloudy Day Wrap - week 1
About two weeks ago, I started to work on my new design, Cloudy Day Wrap, knitted in Knitpicks Gradient Stroll yarn in color named "Sea You Later".

About the same time we also adopted a puppy from animal shelter and somehow my knitting time evaporated.  But things are getting better, and I did find few moments in between the chaos to sit down and knit. The puppy usually keeps me company.

Cloudy Day Wrap - week 2
I am about half way through the work on the wrap and I just love how the color changes from dark to light. The second skein of yarn will be knit in reverse order, from light to dark. Once the sample is done and the pattern is written and edited and tested, we still need to take good photographs. I already envision the photo shoot taking place somewhere on a beach.

Thank you for visiting.
